According to wikipedia:
Six degrees of separation (also referred to as the "Human Web") refers to the idea that, if a person is one step away from each person they know and two steps away from each person who is known by one of the people they know, then everyone is at most six steps away from any other person on Earth.
Personally I can't stand this 6 degrees of separation nonsense & these days it seems more like 2 degrees! Every time I meet someone I'm like "damn you know this person too?!" Its not necessarily always a bad thing, but when you want to avoid certain people it can become annoying. You can't escape anybody, out of the millions of people in NYC how is everybody in the same circle? Then again it doesn't even have to be in NY because I've gone through this with people I know in other states. It truly mind boggles me but I think all these social sites have played a major role in this. I've had this convo with a few friends recently and heard some crazy stories about friends, boyfriends/girlfriends, exes, so I know I'm not the only one who can despise this theory at times. This world is just wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy to small for its own good..so think twice before you do something, you never know who's who.
